If ever you're in Stellenbosch, do yourself a HUGE favour and visit De Oude Bank Bakkerij for the most divine breads and pastries you have ever tasted. EVER!! They've been getting fantastic reviews from critiques all over the country, which I must admit, is well deserved (see this one from Eat Out and this one from Cape Town Magazine.). If this isn't enough to make you want to go there and indulge, I think these pictures of what's on offer will do the trick, no?
Happy week folks!

It was a beautiful summers' day in Stellenbosch when our Cheetah had some events to compete in at the Inter-School Athletics in Stellenbosch. He did long-jump and 200m sprint and did very well - I am so proud of him!
Next week he goes to Cape Town for another athletics meeting and we're keeping fingers crossed for another beautiful day.
I saw this ULTRA COOL Vespa parked outside our local bakery the other day and just had to snap a few shots. The Cheetah would love it and I can imagine him driving one of these when he's a bit older.
I have memories of these scooters when as a young(er) woman, a friend would pick me up from work on his brothers' Vespa and we would go out for a night on the town. Then one night, it broke down and my friend had to push it up the steepest hill EVER to the nearest fuel station where we left it for the night. Those were the days!
Market day was finally here. I had my first market experience at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch on Friday night and Saturday morning. What a lovely experience! We had a lot of people coming through to shop, with live entertainment on the Friday night. There was plenty of wonderful stuff to choose from; a shoppers' dream! (I did my fair share of shopping too, of course!)
Here's what my table looked like:
I learned a lot from this experience, and will know what to expect; made a few mistakes too, but that's how we learn. For now, I'm looking forward to 9 February for the next market. Watch this space!
