Weylandts

A recent visit to Knysna with visitors from The Netherlands took us on a trip to Thesen Island and in particular checking out the Weylandts shop on the island. If you're into contemporary furniture and design for the home, this is the place to go. Weylandts stock a wide variety of furniture and décor items that will leave your pocket a bit emptier but your home looking fabulous.

As the sole distributor in South Africa of designers such as Kenneth Cobonpue and Ethnicraft it is not surprising that Weylandts is such a favourite shopping destination for home decorators.

I took some pictures in the Thesen Island store, but if you want to see their whole range of products, check out their website here.

Do you like? I love, love, LOVE!

Happy day!

Lovely light supper

There's nothing I love more than the "al fresco" style of eating we adopt in summer time; well almost summer.    Mealtime for us includes lots of fresh veggies and something light, like these gingered chicken cakes we have with salad and mayonnaise in wraps or pita bread...

Happy day!

FALCON enamelware

Oh, I just love this enamelware from FALCON. We're seriously busy to finish the renovations to our kitchen and I can just picture this lovely enamelware in our "new" kitchen (sigh....). It seems they don't ship to my country though but I'm hoping that will change sometime soon (and the  ZAR must get a bit more value again; then I can perhaps do a bit of shopping from FALCON, hmm..hmmm....)

If I could splash out on something, it would definitely be on this; it just makes so much more sense to me to get something that is long-lasting, contemporary and classic at the same time (uhhh, is that even possible??), versatile and funky. My verdict: melamine is OUT and enamel is IN!

Happy day!

Le Creuset

Oh, my gosh!! I went into our local Le Creuset store today to find a gift for our Cheetah's teacher who got engaged last week. Choices are very hard to make in a place like that but this is what I finally bought for her and her fiancé. A beautiful dish (in this divine colour) that can be used for just about anything; I LOVE it and I hope she does too...

More delicious cook-and-tableware from Le Creuset.....

Hmmmm.... Of course there are plenty more colours to choose from, but this one is my favourite. Maybe that's the reason I chose it for Cheetah's teacher, but at least she can exchange if she prefers a different colour. From now on I will put a little bit of cash aside each month and work on a collection of this beautiful cookware for myself.... Yes!!!

Happy Day!!

Outside dining

This is a magazine that I absolutely love to buy; packed full of decorating ideas for everyone's taste.

Here are a few pictures taken from its' website, for outdoor eating areas. While it's summer here at home, Europe will have summer soon, so you can draw some inspiration from here for those warm evenings when you can have your meals outside....

This last one is my favourite; rustic and relaxed.
