A while ago I made cupcakes for the 8th birthday of my friends' daughter.

Here's what it looked like

She wanted a big pile of cakes (similar to the French croquembouche) and I think the result was very pretty.

Here's a close up

Vanilla cupcakes with a butter-cream icing (frosting). Dark chocolate roses, pink fondant roses and white chocolate roses.

Although I'm not a first-timer at cake decorating, it was the first time I made roses of fondant and chocolate modelling "clay" (completely edible). Not to brag or anything, but I thought they looked very pretty; and they tasted as good!

Another time I'll post more pictures of other cakes I made.
