Hearts

A friend of mine is having a baby, and she asked me to sew a few hearts for the nursery. Her theme is birds and hearts; perfect for a little princess. This is what I've done so far....

Baby Sarah is due in June, and we are all very excited for her to make an appearance. I think these hearts will look lovely in her room and I can't wait to give it to mom.

I saw an advertisement for this site that sell the most beautiful fabrics on Soule Mama, one of my favourite of favourite blogs. Just looking at all the beautiful fabrics makes me itch to get my workroom in order, get a huge big batch of everything and start sewing again....

Craft rooms from all around

Blogger has been down for a few days and I'm happy to be back to share some beautiful things with you.

Apartment therapy is a big source of inspiration for me and I saw these lovely craft rooms here

My craft room is rather small but these pictures gave me some lovely ideas to make the most of the space I have available to me. I'll start re-decorating soon!!!

Happy day!

Market day

Market day was finally here. I had my first market experience at The Treasury Market in Stellenbosch on Friday night and Saturday morning. What a lovely experience! We had a lot of people coming through to shop, with live entertainment on the Friday night. There was plenty of wonderful stuff to choose from; a shoppers' dream! (I did my fair share of shopping too, of course!)

I learned a lot from this experience, and will know what to expect; made a few mistakes too, but that's how we learn. For now, I'm looking forward to 9 February for the next market. Watch this space!

More cute little projects

Here are a few more cute little cushions I'v been busy with...





I have a son, but even he is not exempt from having one of these on his bed. And he's LOVING IT! The one I made for him has a more boyish theme though...

Latest creations

I've been a bit quiet on this side, and here's a peek into what I've been up to for the last few days...





One of my favorites; the cushion with the "washing on the line". These cushions are perfect to decorate a little girls' bed/bedroom. In the last picture, is a key-ring, which can also be used as a door ornament. You like?

Et Voila!

Here's another bag finished!






This fabric is so lovely and colorful, the bag doesn't need too much decoration. I tried a new pattern too, which is a lot easier than the one I've been using until now. Phew!

I wrote about two lovely pieces of fabric I found here and went on to make one bag so far. This is what it looks like....






The little rose with lace trimming is detachable, and can be used for a brooch or put anywhere on the bag, as you like. This will be for sale at the Treasury Market too.

Fabric finds

I was very pleased when I found these two pieces of fabric the other day....




These are just perfect for two lovely bags; totes or shoulder bags, I haven't decided yet.... Keep a look-out to see what I've done with them!

Baby stuff

These are little outfits I have made for a friends' little girl.



The white shirts were bought at a local department store for a steal, with the original white ribbon removed and added to a similar shorts in a lovely yellow (sorry, I forgot to take a picture of that one). I added my own ribbons to make them look a bit "different".







Now we're just waiting for summer to come, so little Raphaelle can actually WEAR these and I can have a picture of how cute she looks in these pants. Aren't they just darling?

Sewing

Slowly, slowly working on my bags..... The more it goes, the busier I am with daily stuff.... Tomorrow I will organize to have my swing tags printed. I am so excited about that!
