My Style

Here are some of my "i want that" favourites of the moment. I've always been a "lover" of underwear as outerwear, but only with pretty, lacey slips like these ones. They look fabulous when layered with a plain, white, cream or pale coloured slip and is very sexy for summer. I usually wore it with strappy, flat sandals or flat pumps. Add to that, a pretty cardigan and voila!

1. gorgeous lacey slip from Top Shop
2. chiffon and lace slip from Top Shop
3. printed scarf from not on the high street
4. floral slip from Top Shop
5. sexy halter dress from pip-squeak chapeau etc.
6. "gotta have this" embroidered bag from hardtofind
7. stripey pants from Top Shop
8. vintage style slip from Top Shop
9. fabulous black midi slip from Top Shop
10. cotton dress "must have" from pip-squeak chapeau etc.

Winter warmers

With winter upon us, it's not a bad idea to invest in a good pair of handmade wool-lined boots to keep your toes warm during the cold months.  I saw these at a local market the other day and I fell in love....(sigh!) Gurmuki boots are handmade in Cape Town, South Africa with locally sourced materials. There are more products in their line, like laptop/tablet carriers and beautiful summer sandals (for the lucky ones up north who are going into warmer weather now). Sonja Nell, founder, designer and owner of Gurmuki is very passionate about her products and when you slip on a pair of Gurmuki's you'll know why. They are comfortable, warm and funky enough to fit any style or taste.

Here's a peek at a few of their items....

For more info visit the web page here or their Facebook page here. I can't think of a better investment for winter-warm boots than these!

Happy week!

Stamp making

I've been playing around with erasers and carving tools, see?

For this I used a regular, if not perhaps a bit too small, eraser from Staedtler and some cheapo carving tools from our local arts & craft supplier.

I've got my eyes on the following though; Speedball carving tools available from Amazon. Click here for all the Speedball products on Amazon. Other e-stores that stock Speedball cutters are scrapbook.com and  gobstock.com. Instead of the small erasers which work just fine, but not quite the size I'd like my stamps to be,  I'd like the super, duper Staedtler Mastercarve Artist carving blocks.  They come in all sizes and thicknessess; only problem is that I haven't been able to find any on-line. Suggestions anyone? Do they even manufacture these still?

I'm quite excited about this craft and can see how it will keep me busy over the coming winter months.

Happy weekend!

Le Creuset

Oh, my gosh!! I went into our local Le Creuset store today to find a gift for our Cheetah's teacher who got engaged last week. Choices are very hard to make in a place like that but this is what I finally bought for her and her fiancé. A beautiful dish (in this divine colour) that can be used for just about anything; I LOVE it and I hope she does too...

More delicious cook-and-tableware from Le Creuset.....

Hmmmm.... Of course there are plenty more colours to choose from, but this one is my favourite. Maybe that's the reason I chose it for Cheetah's teacher, but at least she can exchange if she prefers a different colour. From now on I will put a little bit of cash aside each month and work on a collection of this beautiful cookware for myself.... Yes!!!

Happy Day!!

House Doctor

I am totally in love. On the same online shopping site I wrote about here, I saw these beautiful designs by house doctor
and just couldn't stop looking.

Besides fabulous furniture, they also have soft furnishing, clothes and accessories, storage, lamps and lighting, kitchen supplies and much, much more. Is it right to desire all these things (?), because I would go crazy if let loose in their store.

Absolutely fabulous; don't you agree?

P.S.

BODIE and FOU

I found this online boutique and sat for ages, drooling over all the cool stuff they have on offer. You can follow their blog here or you can head on over to the online shop and shop till you drop. Run by two French sisters, I am not surprised - totally in awe of their eye for detail and the quality products they have for sale.
A bonus for us in the southern hemisphere is that they ship all around the World!! Yeah!!! I think I might just blow my budget completely here.....

I want that bed linen, I want that lovely distressed wood wallpaper and I saw gorgeous white pendant lights that I want soooo bad..... Sigh!!
