Baby rooms

I've seen some boring old rooms for lil' ones, and I've seen some really awesome ones. I guess it's all about personal taste. But me; I like something a bit funky. After all, the room will not be noticed by baby at all; until she reaches an age where she can appreciate it.  It really is a space where YOU spend a lot of time, so I think it should be decorated with YOU in mind too.

Again I borrow some images from Loft i love

now this is what I mean

how cool is this?

a bed and bed linen with a difference - me like it!

perfect to get lost in their dreams

a room fit for a little princess

how cool is this for a little boy?

Happy day!

Shoe makeover

I saw some fabulous shoe makeovers done by Kelli of Kellism and decided to try this myself. It's a fantastic craft for anyone, especially for kids on those cold, wet, winter days when they have absolutely "nothing to do".

This is one of Kelli's designs:

from her Facebook page, here

And here are one of my own creations:

I had so much fun making these that this will be on my Christmas gift list for some people. All you need is a pair of white canvas shoes, fabric or acrylic paint and a bit of patience. For the rest, just go wild with your designs and enjoy!

Happy day!

Food, glorious food

We've had a dietician visit our Cheetah's school recently, with a complete revamp of the menu at the tuck-shop (canteen) and an interesting talk about children and nutrition. My guys and I are quite lucky to be naturally slim, despite the fact that we like full cream milk and yoghurt, REAL butter on our bread and lots of other "naughty" things.
The talk just reminded me that we still have to watch what we eat. I want to share some images and links to some of my favourite foodie blogs....

cannelle et vanille not only have some divine recipes and ideas for wholesome meals, the food styling and photographs are absolutely to die for.....

Then there is The Alkaline Sisters  who shares with us,  nutritious recipes and beautifully photographed food as well. Have a look....

Good, healthy food has never looked this good before and with all the choice we have these days it is much easier to help our kids follow a wholesome diet that is not boring and tasteless.

Happy day!

Up-cycling

I've had this little white tray for AGES - I think it was a vessel for a Christmas gift from years ago. Like usual, I didn't want to throw the tray away "just in case" I have a use for it "one day".... Hahahaha! Well, I finally did something with it....

nettle green

I honestly don't know how I managed to stumble upon this website, but I'm sure happy that I did. Just look at the sweetest button badges.

cute elephant flask

cheerful melamine cups

funky lunch boxes and tins

tea for two (or more)

decoration for you little princess's room

Besides these cute melamine cups and funky lunch boxes and cases they have lovely floormats, rugs, lighting, kids clothing and much, much more. With summer on the way for many of you (in the North) there's a great variety of picnic ware and such. Just imagine a picnic on the beach with these bright and cheerful tableware. I'm almost jealous...
